Mushroom uttapam

Uttapam is a popular and tasty south Indian breakfast recipe. Mushroom Uttapam is topped with mushrooms, corn, spinach and pepper. You can serve Mushroom Uttapam with coconut or mint chutney.

  • ½ Kg Rice
  • 250gm Urad dal
  • 100gm Chana dal
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Thillai’s Black Pepper
  • 20gm Corn, boiled
  • 30gm Mushroom, sliced
  • 1 Bunch spinach, finely chopped
  • Oil (to cook)

Preparation Method For Mushroom Uttapam

  1. Soak the ½ kg rice, 100gm chana dal and 250gm urad dal overnight.
  2. Mix them together, add salt and 1 tablespoon Thillai’s Black Pepper and grind it well to a consistent batter.
  3. Heat tawa, sprinkle some water and wipe.
  4. Now sprinkle some oil on it and pour the mixture in a circular motion.
  5. Place the 20gm corn (boiled), 30gm mushroom (sliced) on the uttappam.
  6. Add some oil on it.
  7. Once the uttappam turns brown and crispy, turn it over and cook for a few minutes.
  8. Now Mushroom Uttapam is ready!!!
